I can not put into words how much I love Postiljonen and their music. Here is a new track they just released from their Facebook page, When All The Wild Things Die. It is one of their first songs they made as a band and it isn’t on their brilliant LP that was released a few months ago. Very impressive. This band is heaven sent.

Refreshing with a badass kick. Louis Futon is a duo of producers from Philadelphia. These two guys look young enough to be my kids — if I decided to have babies in high school, I mean. Maybe I just feel old when I see all these amazing young people making music that I can blast on my car or headphones.
Their short 3-song EP is currently available for free to download. Stream it here:
Here is another track that isn’t on their EP:
[EP release date: August 25, 2013]
I was really close to not posting this since I’m trying to post only things I really like. I think I like this more than I think. Does that make sense? Probably not. Maybe I’m indecisive. But the more I listen, the more I find myself appreciating it. I love the catchy, but dark production. It’s addictive. Reminds me of Mr. Gloomy looking for Mrs. Joy. There is kindness and sweetness in the melancholy cave of Flaamingos and I like it.

It’s artists like Julianna Barwick that contributes to a lot of the beautiful feelings I have for getting to live on this earth — like a drug. This overwhelmingly beautiful LP will make you evaporate into the sky.
Julianna is from Louisiana and raised in Missouri. She currently lives in Brooklyn. She’s touring with Sigur Rós this fall. Don’t miss it.
Here is one song I’m able to embed:

I’m a big fan of the Ghostly Singles, Adult Swim always seem to have superb taste in music. Captain Murphy is also one of my favorite rappers and even more so when I learned it was really Flying Lotus behind it all. Listen to the dark track below released by Ghostly Singles. It’s available to download for free here.
Totally unexpected. I discovered John Grant by listening to a remix. I liked the remix so I decided to check out his stuff and I was in for an awesome surprise. John Grant is folk-rock artist with thoughtful and sometimes hilarious lyrics. According to his bio, John suffered from depression and then moved to Reykavik and recorded Pale Green Ghosts. The LP is a “show of strength and survival, of moving on with life, on what will continue to be an incredible journey.”
He’s mainly touring in Europe this fall, check out dates here.
Stream the whole album below. The whole LP is really worth a complete listen, but some of my favorite songs include GMF, Why Don’t You Love Me Anymore, You Don’t Have To, Ernest Borgnine, and I Hate This Town.
I should not be attracted to males
But you said that I should learn to love myself
Well, make up your mind, Dr. Frankenstein.
I hate this fucking town
You can not even leave your fucking house without
running into someone who no longer cares about you
And here is the badass remix that I first heard before of hearing of John Grant:
[LP release date: May 16, 2013]
Here’s a funky new song for you! If you like Janelle Monáe and Amy Winehouse, you’ll dig this. Lolo is a new soul-funk artist and I’m really looking forward to hearing more from her in the near future.

Here’s another song she released about a month ago. Love the piano touches.
Yea, I heard it from a friend
Who heard it from a friend
So when you gonna to tell me you fucked me over
It makes me feel fuzzy in my tummy when I find new music to fall in love with. So refreshing and sweet. Jaymes Young releases a full Mixtape (or LP?) that is available to download for free. From beginning to end, the mixtape is a very impressive contribution to the dark pop/R&B genre. Kinda reminds me of James Blake and Justin Timberlake mixed into a new handsome J dude.
Stream the whole mixtape below. A few of my notable favorites is Two More Minutes, Moondust, and Northern Lights.
[Mixtape release date: August 20, 2013]
What? Me? Obsessed? Psshhh – whatever. Okay, maybe. Just a little. Okay, I admit. Obsession is an understatement! I love this duo – they seem to not know how to make music that is less than perfect.
Formulär 1A is another song from their upcoming LP, Värd mer än guld. The special premiere is found in No Fear of Pop. I’m not allowed to post the Soundcloud audio directly on my site (yet) so you’ll have to go directly to their site:
